Political History & Views

What is your political history or relevant experience?

Are you a member of any organisation which guides or influences your political views or polices?

I am standing as a candidate for the newly formed Liberal Vannin Party lead by Peter Karran MHK. We have issued a party statement which, if elected, I will honour and do my utmost to implement.

What are your main national issues?

Sound financial government with independant audit. a freedom of information act and more open government.

The upper house must be elected by the people of the Island and we need to find a way of voters having a say in electing our Chief Minister.

In health matters, better leadership is required and more efforts on preventative measures are needed.

What are your main local issues?

Rather than issues, my aim would be to make myself available as and when issues arise. I cannot predict the issues for Garff over the next 5 years but a willingness to listen and making myself easily accessable will be important.

What do you believe you would bring to government as an MHK?

Business experience and commonsense. I am not a fan of 'Political Correctness' or following the latest fad.

As a member of Liberal Vannin, I also believe that we can start to have a proper debate on issues instead of CoMin being subject to little real scrutiny.
